Current Student Aid

The University of Massachusetts’ Board of Trustees has postponed meetings to determine 2019-2020 academic year tuition and fees until the state legislature approves a fiscal year 2020 budget. The fall 2019 bills might be delayed. Please check back here for up to date information.

As in previous years, your current/continuing student Financial Aid Awards normally include a combination of grants, loans from various funding sources, as well as scholarships and on- and off-campus work opportunities through the federal work/study program.
Your financial aid funds fundamentally still come from:

  • The Federal Government
  • The Commonwealth of Massachusetts
  • UMass Boston

To determine your eligibility, simply complete and submit  a new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the continuing students renewal deadline of May 1. The FAFSA is all you need to be considered for most of the available aid. Four simple steps can be found on How to Apply for Financial Aid.  You’ll also find a complete listing of sources of financial aid.

The financial information you report on your FAFSA will again help to determine your Expected Family Contribution (EFC) to pay for your education. This is an estimate that gives perspective on the amount of money you’ll need to supplement the financial aid you qualify to receive.

Be sure to read the Terms and Conditions for receiving financial aid.

We understand that financial aid can be confusing.  Don’t worry.  Ask us for help. We can explain your options.
