Scholarships for Freshmen

To ensure the health and safety of our faculty, students, staff, and surrounding community, UMass Boston will continue to operate in hybrid fashion, with some courses lodged on campus and others—the majority—continuing in remote modality during the fall 2020 semester. Many answers about the campus's response to the coronavirus can be found in our special section.

Students are automatically considered for UMass Boston's merit scholarship aid based on their admissions application. The Office of Undergraduate Admissions will notify recipients at the time of acceptance if they have been selected for one of these scholarships.

Preference is given for students who apply by the early action admissions deadline of November 1.

This Scholarship Grid is for students who choose to submit standardized test scores. For students who apply as test optional please see the Test Optional Scholarship Grid further below.

At UMass Boston we have allowed students to apply as test optional since the fall of 2018. We understand that some students do not always feel that standardized test scores are the best indicator of their academic ability or promise. We also recognize that the Coronavirus has made the availability of standardized tests challenging this year. For all of these reasons, we are pleased to provide scholarship range options to test-optional students.
